"D" Shannon is a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute Class of 1982.  A United States Marine, a Gold Star Son*, and a Blue Star Father - "D" 's life has been one of service to others.  "D" is disabled with Parkinson's disease and was urged to take up Art as a form of 'Neuroplasticity' in 2016.  To his great surprise he was awarded the Gold medal first Prize in a National Veteran juried Art show in 2017.

* D's father, 1st Lt. Kenneth A. Shannon was the first KIA in Vietnam from Virginia.
